World Series Updates:

At Van Buren, AR Babe Ruth World Series Tournament on:

Game # 1: On Friday afternoon, August 15th @ 2:30 p.m. , the East Twins 15's started off their World Series adventure against New Jersey's State Champion and Middle Atlantic Champion team from Nottingham in pool play! ..........  This is the third straight trip to the world series for Nottingham and were favored to American league pool!  The only problem is that they forgot to tell East Twins this.........  Phil Spock who has been on fire through the tournaments again spread out 4 hits and only allowed 1 run while East Twins scored 3 runs in the 5th inning and never looked back! .......... East Twins is now 1-0 in pool play!  Next up on Saturday @ 8:00 p.m. is the host team Van Buren, AK! ....... East Twins is now 1-0 in pool play!  (Game # 1: The Tellefsen player of the game award goes to: Phil Spock)

Game # 2: On Saturday night, August 16th @ 8:00 p.m., the East Twins 15's started off on fire against the Host team Van Buren, AR team with 5 runs in the top of the first inning and Colin Felhaber pitched 4 strong innings without giving up a run!  East Twins in the first 5 innings put up a total of 9 runs before giving up 4 in the bottom of the 5th.  Colin finished up the 5 innings with 6 strike outs and 4 runs........  Charlie Pelzer then came in the 6 & 7 innings struck out 3 and closed the door for East Twins for a final score of 10-4! ........... Next up on Sunday @ 2:30 p.m. is Torrance, CA! ... which is the California and Pacific Southwest Regional Champions! ....... East Twins is now 2-0 in pool play! Game # 3: On Sunday afternoon, August 17th @ 2:30 p.m., the East Twins 15's came across a tough California team from Torrance!  With East Twins giving up 4 runs in the 1st inning, while getting 1 run in the bottom of the 2nd that kept it close but the Torrance team opened up a large lead with 4 more runs in the top 5th and then shut the door on them for the rest of the game behind a 2 hitter by Cole Trezak from Torrance.  Colton Smit pitched a nice game for East Twins but their bats never got going this game! ..... Next up on Monday @ 12:00 p.m. is Tallahassee, FL! ... which is the Florida and Southeast Regional Champions! ........... East Twins is now 2-1 in pool play! Game # 4: On Monday afternoon, August 18th @ 12:00 p.m., the East Twins 15's played another great game today behind Phil Spock!  East Twins offense put up 4 runs in the top of the 2nd inning for a 4-1 lead, another run in the 4th and even though it was 5-4 in the top of the 7th inning, East Twins put the pressure on Tallahassee with 3 more runs to secure the East Twins win 8-4!  A tough Tallahassee, FL team battled them tough through out a very close game, but could not answer the offense of East Twins and the pitching of Phil Spock!...... East Twins will have Tuesday off now while the rest of the teams finish pool play! ......... East Twins finished pool play at 3-1! (Game # 4: The Tellefsen player of the game award goes to: Colton Smit)

Next up on Wednesday night will begin single elimination bracket play between the top 3 spots of the American division and the top 3 spots National division to crown the over all World Series champion.  East Twins with a 3-1 pool play will be playing in the Finals Brackets single elimination round starting on Wednesday.  Final pool play took place today and Torrance, CA will be the #1 seat (3-1 in pool play), East Twins, MN #2 seat (3-1 in pool play) and with Tallahasee's, FL victory over Nottingham, NJ 4-3 ......... Tallahassee, FL will be the #3 seat.  Next up for East Twins is the #3 seat from the National Division Westbrook, ME (1-3 in pool play) @ 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday night 8/20/08!
