East Twins 14's All Star Team!

At Albia, IA, Midwest Plains Regional Tournament on:

The East Twins 14's are the Midwest Plains Runner-Up for their tournament in Albia, IA!

Thanks for playing so hard and we are all proud how you played and how your represented, yourselves, the program, your families and all the East Twins baseball fans!

On Wednesday 8/6, the 14's again played their hearts out beating W. Fargo ND 16-4 in 6 innings behind another great pitched complete game of Travis Orme (in 6 innings)!  The 14's jumped out to an early 8-0 lead and ran it up to 16-0 before W Fargo ND got on the board with 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th but not enough!..... The East Twins made quick work with the 16-4 win setting up the if necessary game!

 Wednesday 8/6. then in the if necessary game Championship game, the East Twins 14's jumped off to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first behind a grand slam home run by Brett Martin.  Then in the bottom of the 1st, W. Fargo ND hit a 3 run home run off Matt Olson to make the score 4-3. In the bottom of the second W. Fargo ND scored another run to make it a 4-4 contest.  In the 3rd ET scored again to make it 5-4 and then in the bottom of the 4th W Fargo, ND scored 6 runs to make it 10-5........... East Twins then rallied in the top of the 7th with 4 more runs to make it 10-9 and with the bases loaded and 2 outs the W Fargo Team closed out the game for a final score of 10-9!  Great run after losing the first game and then winning 5 game in a row and made a great run!! 

Tuesday 8/5, the 14's played their hearts out first defeating Boonville MO 7-2 behind a great pitched game of Matt Olson who had 11 strike outs and a 3 hitter and some good defense behind him and a lot of hitting!  In the second game Danny Thering also pitched a great game holding a feisty Iowa City, IA team who to 6 hits along with 10 strike outs. Iowa took a 2-1 early lead but the 14's took the lead 4-2 in the 5th inning and never looked back!  Congratulations to the 14's for a great day of baseball and they have now worked their way back to the Championship Wednesday against West Fargo, ND! W. Fargo is undefeated and hopefully the 14's can beat them two games in a row to capture the MWPR Championship!  Good Luck 14's and let's take that MWPR Championship back home to East Twins!  East Twins plays their 1st @ 5:00 p.m. and if they win that one they will play their 2nd game at 7:30 p.m.!  Good Luck 14's play your hearts out!

Monday 8/4, the 14's played a feisty Gering NE team.  Travis Orme pitched a complete game with 6 strike out and 6 put outs!  The defense was stellar behind him and the East Twins 14's defeated Gering NE 7-4!  Next up is Boonville, NE @ 4:00 p.m. !  If the 14's win that game they will face the loser of the semi final game of the winners bracket between Iowa City, IA and W. Fargo ND @ 7:00 p.m.  If the 14's win their 2 games Tuesday they will have to play 2 games on Wednesday as long as they keep winning!  Good luck 14's and go get them again on Tuesday!  Check out the game on-line live @ http://www.kiicradio.com/

Sunday 8/3, the 14's were back at it again against Rathbun Area IA team.  Behind a strong pitched game by Danny Thering who went 6 innings, 8 strike out and 3 runs outing and the Derek Baregi closed out the game in the 7th inning with 2 strike outs!  Shane Gallagher open the game with a triple and the top of the line-up put up 3 runs in the first inning!  In the 5th inning Rathbun closed the score 3-2 but in the bottom of the 5th East Twins scored 3 more runs to take a 6-2 lead and never looked back!  The 14's 4 more runs in the bottom of the 6th and gave up one more and completed the 10-3 victory sending to host team home for the tournament!  East Twins is now 1-1 and will face the loser of the W. Fargo ND or/ Gering NE who play at 1:00 p.m.  East Twins 14's game will be at 7:00 p.m.!  Good luck and go get them! 

Saturday 8/2, the 14 year old East Twins All Star team loss to Iowa City, IA but not without a fighting chance.  Eric Hanson pitched a nice game giving up 5 runs but the 14's could not solve the Iowa City's pitching for for the 6 inning only scoring once!  In the 7th inning the 14's rallied for4 runs only to give 1 run back in the bottom of the 7th to lose   6-5!  Next up for the 14's is winner of Tri County, CO or/Rathbun Area IA Host team at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday 8/3 night!  You can check out the radio broadcast on the internet @: http://www.kiicradio.com/ then connect your computer to the radio stream to listen to the game live from Albia, IA!

 Friday 8/1, the 14 year old East Twins All Star team checked into the regional tournament.  The East Twins 14's will be back in action on Saturday 8/2 @ 5:00 p.m. against Iowa City, IA!
